Here is an FANTASTIC Fisher Price Little People Play Family Fire Station (1980-82) that is 100% COMPLETE! This set is VHTF, let alone in NEAR MINT condition! This set comes with 17 of its original fun-filled pieces along with two extra fire trucks and the rare Fire Chief. Last but not least, this offering also includes this set's ORIGINAL box.

This play set affords TONS of open-ended play possibilities! When you turn the crank on the side of the fire station, the garage door goes up and down and the bell rings. The interior of the fire station features two levels. The upper level serves as a staging area for the dispatchers while the lower level houses the rescue vehicles. The EXTERIOR litho is in MINT condition. It is free of any edge wear, marks, stains, bubbles, creases etc. It is smoothly and firmly attached to the Fire Station.

The interior lithos are also in superb shape (NEAR MINT-MINT). After repeatedly scrutinizing these interior lithos, I can only detect two miniscule "imperfections:"

1. One small bubble on the upper part of the dispatcher litho; and

2. One, 1/8" W x 1/8"L light stain on the cat litho. These "flaws" definitely do NOT detract from the overall appearance or functioning of this piece.

It's unbelievable that these lithos are 34 years old!!! There are NO discolorations, creases, marks, or edge wear on ANY of the INTERIOR lithos. The captivating graphics are richly colored and full-bodied in their appearance. They are smoothly adhered to the their underlying plastic surfaces.

Similarly, there are NO chips, abrasions, discolorations, scuffs, cracks etc. on any of the plastic surfaces (roof, garage door, sides of building, base etc.). On close inspection (e.g. base held up within 3" of my eyes and rotated in the light), I can spy two minor flaws:

1. Some light wear and scratching on the lower edge of the gray base on the side of the Fire Station that is opposite to the side with the bell; obviously, these are not visible while the set is on display or during play; and

2. One, pin-head size "ding" on the edge of the brown roof on the side of the Fire Station that is opposite to the side with the bell. That's it! The color and patina of this base resembles that of a brand new set---it's that good!

The bell and garage door work as designed. The bell is shiny and bright with no discoloration, tarnishing, or pitting being discerned. This truly is an AWESOME set!!!

Besides the fire station itself, the set includes all of its original accessories. They include:

1 RARE fire practice tower (EXC--some scratches, scuffs, and one abrasion or prominent indentation ; the latter is on the column to the right of the top floor landing; this is readily visible);

2 EXTREMELY RARE fire hoses (one is in MINT condition; the other is in EXC-EXC++ condition with some faint "nibbles" on the connector portion of the hose);

2 RARE barricades (NEAR MINT-MINT);

2 VHTF yellow ladders (EXC-EXC++--a couple of light indentations on the connecting ends of the ladders; these appear to have been caused by a child's errant teeth);

1 RARE Dalmatian Dog (MINTY MINT--absolutely no chews on ears);

1 HTF plastic fireman w/white hat and arms (NEAR MINT--minor roughness along lower edge of fire hat; not chews; light rub on fireman's mouth);

2 VHTF plastic firemen w/red hats and arms (NEAR MINT-MINT);

1 HTF red and white ambulance without Fisher Price written on its wheels (MINTY MINT);

1 RARE fire chief car w/gold colored emblem on front hood and without Fisher Price being written on its wheels (NEAR MINT-MINT--there is one pin-head size indentation on the back side of the red light; you literally have to hold the piece up within 3" of your eyes and tilt it in the light to find it; the rest of the car is in MINTY MINT condition);

1 VHTF pumper fire truck with the extendable ladder and basket on the end (Note: This is the fire truck that originally came with this set; it does NOT have the design on the side)(EXC++-NEAR MINT--some minor edge wear on the white supports for the suspended bucket); and last, but not least,

2 RARE yellow stabilizers (one MINTY MINT; the other has numerous tiny "nibbles" on one end; I would gauge it to be in VG+-VG++ condition; the nibbles are not visible when that end of the stabilizer is inserted into its proper place on the side of the fire truck). T

To add to the number of open-ended play scenarios afforded by this set, I have added the following items to this offering:

1. One RARE Fire Chief with silver hat and white arms (MINT);

2. One large fire truck with gold emblem on side of cab (NEAR MINT); and

3. One small fire truck with extendable ladder and without Fisher Price being written on its wheels (MINT).

The Fire Station BOX is in AMAZING condition. It possess all of its original flaps at one end and is still sealed with its factory original tape at the other end. The color and graphics on the box are mesmerizing. They are bold and sharp with their original, full-bodied coloration. Noted "imperfections" on the box consist of: remnants of its original price stickers, some minor edge wear on the corners and edges, and an approximately 10" slit through the name Fisher Price on the front of the box towards the bottom. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I would consider this box to be a 7.5/10. If the slit weren't present, I'd give this box a 9.5/10.

I've tried to be as thorough and honest about this set as I can. I'd rather be "nit-picky" than have someone disappointed in what they were purchasing.

All in all, this is a SPECTACULAR play set and one suitable for an avid Fisher Price Collector or some lucky child.
