We are presenting some of the earliest creations which are now retired. What makes them unique to the items on the market today is the presence of volumes of hand-sewn draping fabrics, intricate hand painted detailing, inspired brushwork & realistic stylings which are well-blended to create a truly one-of-a-kind collectible. Unfortunately, because of the high cost of the process, the newer pieces contain much less of the clothtique feature ... Dateline/Era/Type: COLLECTOR'S Quality. Created in the Mid 1980s. Produced until the early 1990s. Style: This is the most sumptuous BLACK CHERUB ANGEL when the Clothtique process was at its peak. This very elegant figure is wearing a lovely golden full - length Clothtique gown which is gathered at the neckline and waist with full, sumptous draping and folds. The gown drapes down from the waist in and there is no skimping in the gathers. The waist is tied with a long black & gold braided belt. The gown has long winged sleeves that drape over the arms. This darling little figure is holding a scroll over its right arm. Styled after an early Victorian Age Angel, this is a wonderful heirloom piece. It can be placed upon the branches of a tree (as shown) or hung by its gold hanger which is attached at the back. Its feet are bare and legs bent as if flying. On its sweet head is a crown of green garland with red holly berries intertwined. The detailed wings are softly sculpted with muted gold. Materials: Heavy full length gold gown and antque white scroll - Clothtique fabric. Head and wings - both with finely antique finished hand painted details, legs and hands and harp are of a heavy plastic resin. This sculpture's features are entirely handpainted. About CLOTHTIQUE The earliest records of a technique similar to Clothtique has been traced to the Far East. Some say the technique was also traced to southern Europe. This techique utilizes a stiffened cloth technique to create fine sculptural detailing. In some cases, when ample fabric is present, the fabric can actually be manipulated to your taste and is of high-end heirloom quality. Paul Chang, a well known designer while working with Possible Dreams® formulated the process - having study this process extensively. Chang searched out just the right combination of compounds & elements that are used in this highly creative manner to create the remarkable Clothtique figurines that we so enjoy.
