Here we are presenting a boxed travel set of Victorian silverware. There are four knives and six forks. Each knife has a silver stamp. Each knife is also beautifully embossed with a lacy filagree pattern along the top edge. The forks display the same pattern where the fork bends down to the prong. We're not sure about the handles, but we're guessing bone or Bakelite. One knife has a hairline fracture on its handle.
The box containing the set is very nice but definitely shows its age as well as having one end missing. Our thoughts on it is that it's amazing that the box and silk lining exists at all because they're so perishable they're usually the first things to go.
