This is a wonderful vintage picture frame brooch with four embroidered linen backgrounds that you can switch out. The embroidered fabric is held in the frame by the backing and a brass back with a swivel catch. The brooch measures approximately 2 ½ by 2 inches and will hold a picture that is 1 ¾ inches by 1 ¼ inches. The image in the brooch is a young woman done in pink and blue threads with flowers in her hair. There are three additional embroidered pictures; two are of flowers (lavender and pink), and one is a hanging lantern with a blue bird flying by it. They all have some slight yellowing from age, please look at the enlarged photos as they are part of this description.
The plating or finish on this brooch is rubbed in spots (see close up pictures and arrows). I pointed out a few spots, but you can see the details for yourself. You don't really notice the spots without magnification and it would be easy to touch up with paint if you wanted to. The plastic cover on the front of the frame is clear and in good condition, no damage or yellowing. It has a secure rollover clasp on the back.
