Description Vintage Japanese 3 piece tea set. Teapot, creamer, and covered sugar bowl. Painting shows women and children in kimonos in a garden with purple iris, in front of trees. One tree, a cherry in bloom, bears white raised stippling of 'coralene' technique. Makers Mark on each piece: 'THE YAMATO' above 'NIPPON' inside a maroon oval depicting three peaks; 'HAND PAINTED' in maroon below oval. Not an export set; purchased in Japan by family member, WWII. Condition: Very good vintage condition. Glaze crazing on bottom of creamer; rough porcelain on bottom outer ring where glaze has worn thin or off. Otherwise not cracked or chipped.
