WHEN WERE YOU BUILT? by Helen E. Hokinson

E.P. Dutton & Co., First Edition, 1948

Condition: Very Good in Good+ dust jacket

Helen Hokinson was one of the first cartoonists for the New Yorker. For 25 years, she contributed hundreds of cartoons and many covers to the magazine.  She is now regarded as one of the 20th Century's most influential cartoonists.  She specialized in stout, slightly dizzy matrons.  This oversized hardback is her third collection of New Yorker cartoons and the last published during her lifetime.  It is also perhaps the most uncommon of the three.   Modest corner and spine end wear and some moisture curling of pages (not serious).  Unmarked and tightly bound.  The jacket has edge tears and chipping but is still pretty decent.
