Native to Central and South America, red chili peppers were brought to Europe by Portuguese traders and then spread to the rest of the world. Harvested when they reach a deep red color, our organic red chili pepper flakes are then dehydrated, crushed, and sealed for freshness. Pepper flakes are commonly used to add heat to dishes and have a pungent, spicy flavor. They are often sprinkled over pizza dishes, pasta, and salads.
