Description:   A very unusual antique unknown metal vinaigrette. This rectangular, relatively larger vinaigrette is made of a non-ferrous metal, possibly chrome (It is not marked as silver but is bright as if it was).  The vinaigrette is unmarked as to the maker or the metal used to make it. The piece has a hinged lid which is textured with a border having small flowers in a repeating pattern for decoration all along the edge and having a small bright rectangle in the center that has the initials GB. The rest of the piece's exterior is bright and polished with no decoration. The interior is machine turned and has a grill which slides in and out within a channel at the top of the bottom. Such a grill is very unusual since grills are normally hinged. The grill is decorated with a floral foliate. The piece has a series of numbers written on the inside of the lid which appear to be an inventory number at an institution suggesting the piece was deaccessioned from an institution or museum in the past. Please view the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

It is clean inside and out and the hinge for the lid is intact and work well. The grill slides in and out as it should and is intact and very well done. The exterior of the vinaigrette is intact with some scratches and a few small dings along the edges and on the bottom. The lid closes well and latches tightly when closed.
