• Unknown, often attributed to Crystal Glass Co, possibly Ripley and Co
• Frosted Eagle; aka Old Abe; Frosted Hawk
• Covered Sugar
• Crystal; Clear with Frosted Finial
• Antique Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) c. 1883
• Measurements: 5 5/8" high to the rim, 8 3/4" high to the finale and 4 1/4" rim diameter
• Weight, prepackaged: 1 lb 10.7 oz

• Condition: The underside of the lid has a minor (less then 1/8") nick near the edge. The balance of the lid and base are free of chips, cracks and fleabites, including eagle beak and handles. There are no notable marks from use or storage. The bottom has slight shelf wear. The glass is clear, free of cloudiness with a light green glow under UV light. The etching is excellent.

The pattern is often attributed to Crystal Glass Co (Pittsburg, PA), however there is evidence of Ripley and Co (also Pittsburg, PA) using the pattern without the eagle finial. The Frosted Eagle sugar is often confused with the pickle\marmalade jar which is the same shape and height with the lid, but has a narrower bowl.
