This is a lovely vintage bracelet from Western Germany. It features glossy black round tightly woven flat button like glass disks that alternate between large disks and small disks and smaller round black glass beads down the center. The larger beads are 5/8 of an inch in diameter and the small ones ½ inch in diameter. It is very flexible and has a snake like feel to it. One side of the bracelet has a row of round beads down the center with two small seed like beads on each side, the other side has four of the seed like beads connecting the flat round beads.
It is signed “Made in Western Germany” on the bezel-set cab clasp. The clasp section of the bracelet is about 1 inch in length so you have an opening in the bracelet span where the clasp is. The bracelet measures approximately 7 inches long and 1 ¼ inches wide. You could actually wear this with the disks smooth and flat, or twisted for a chunkier look if you have a smaller wrist (see photos for comparison). Please make sure you measure your wrist as 7 inches will only fit a small wrist. The marks West Germany and Western Germany were used from 1946-1990, Western Germany was used most often between 1946 and 1949. This necklace is most likely from the 1950s.
It is in very good vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The clasp works fine, although I need help to put it on and take it off (because it fits tightly on my wrist). The beads are all secure and tight and I didn't see any chipped or cracked beads. There are a few tiny surface scratches appropriate for age and use, but you don't see them without magnification.
