Stunning Blackmer's

PRINCESS FANCY OVAL BOWL

Exquisite cutting

Measures a generous 11 3/4" x 8" x 3"

plenty large enough for a centerpiece, fruit bowl or breads

Fabulous and fine cutting in and around the 4 oval vesicas filled with double hobstars, tiny hobnails and banked by fine diamond cutting

Large brooms with both horizontal notching and long / short notching extend to assist in forming the design of the rim but stop just short of the actual edge

No chips, nicks or repairs that I noticed (if any they are hard to find or feel), rim edge appears to be untouched

There is a flake on the backside bottom that brushes a miter cut.

Seen on Pic 8 to the right side :(

Display & Table Ready!

The American Brilliant Period of Cut Crystal was generally cut between the years of 1876 to the 1920's and met a rapid decline when the lead used in making brilliant glass was needed for World War 1.  Unique to America, the craftsmen of American Brilliant Period Cut Glass era, created their own place in the history of glassmaking.

Highly collectible, from the making the glass to the craftsmenship of hand cutting crystal, this period was like no other in the world of which we will never see again.  No other types of glassmaking represents the beauty of crystal in its most elegant form.
