You are buying a set of (8) pieces including 9 7/8” master bowl and (7) 5” serving bowl BERRY SET dated 1918 signed F.A.W. (FLORENCE A WOODRING) all pieces have her intials only. I have another lot online of her work with a piece having her full signature. Here’s some interesting information about these pieces from a relative of the estate these came from. The reason the country maker marks were painted over is because the painter was making a silent protest to Germany during World War I. I have seen this before with other porcelain including removing country/maker marks done during World Wars. The larger bowl and 2 of the small serving bowls have a Selb Bavaria mark. 4 of the small bowls have a Nippon stamp.
The condition is very good no chips, no cracks just some light sold rim wear/ scratches and one plate has a tiny dark glaze spot in the making.
