This emblem came to me in a storage purchase. The alignment pins are no longer there and the surface was a bit rough so it could not be sold as new. It was cleaned and then hand-laid gilding was applied. It gave the piece a nice roughed gold finish.

Two layers of gold were applied, then a traditional sealer and finally a coat of polyurethane.

Gilding will be affected by the elements like rain and heat and will also be affected by being impacted by sand and stones while driving. If you still want to use it on the front of your car I do not know how long it will stay pretty.
