The DV-12S is a bandpass filter with a center frequency which is selectable over eight points.
Combined with a mix-tape where several frequencies' sinewaves are multirecorded, this model
enables adjustment and inspection of a cassette tape recorder.
A band-pass filter allows signals within a selected frequency range to be heard or decoded, while preventing
signals at unwanted frequencies from getting through. It works by screening out frequencies that are too low or
too high, allowing only frequencies within a certain range to pass through.
Band-pass filters can be made by stacking a low-pass filter on the end of a high-pass filter, or vice versa. They
can also be created by depositing layers of material on the surface of the substrate.
