Perfect for those with limited space, the Spacemaster cucumber is a compact variety that doesn't skimp on production. Despite its small size, it yields plenty of dark green, smooth cucumbers about 7-8 inches long. It's ideal for container gardening or small-space gardening, and its resistance to cucumber mosaic virus and scab makes it a garden favorite. Enjoy a fresh summer salad or a homemade pickle with this versatile and prolific cucumber variety.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Spacemaster Cucumbers thrive in full sun and require no stratification. Sow the seeds directly outdoors in well-draining soil after the last frost, at a depth of 1 inch. Plant them in hills, with 2-3 seeds per hill, spacing the hills 2-3 feet apart and the rows 4-6 feet apart. Alternatively, grow them vertically on a trellis or support structure. Keep the soil consistently moist during the germination period, which typically takes 7-10 days. Water regularly throughout the growing season, ensuring that the soil remains well-drained.
