This poor little set was a mish mash of single, sad, dirty and tarnished pieces that I truly considered tossing in the trash as a lost cause. But my heart is all about refurbishing, renewing, and breathing new life into old things. So here we go.
The Gerry's brand heart brooch was brass on the back and a dirty silver on the front with most of the clear rhinestones missing. I painted it with metallic gold, sealed with a clear seal and replaced the clear rhinestones with brilliant red ones. I also added a Claire chain to make it a pendant. Cute! The other brooch was worse - Green moldy, dirty silver tone with most of its stones missing also. Again, gold metallic paint and red rhinestones. The studs are Steve Maddon that I added a backing that holds a single red rhinestone. So they can be worn either way - just add a regular back to wear it as a single stud. Lastly, I made this wire wrapped ring years ago. It matches the gold paint pretty well and I added a couple of the red rhinestones to the top. So put it all together and you have OOAK jewelry with a story!

Collectible Vintage Jewelry - My mother sold Cathe, Sarah Coventry and a few beautiful estate pieces in the early 1960s. This was an era when costume jewelry was quality, intricately detailed and is still stunningly beautiful. I spent many a happy hour imagining being a princess/pirate with my chest of jewelry. I inherited her tremendous collection but now Its time for someone else to enjoy these treasures.
