Black cameos came into being around the turn of the century. During this time, a death meant wearing black for an extended period of time. Black cameos were designed so that these women could still feel fashionable during this time.
This was acquired so I am unsure of the age of this brooch. It was sold to me as vintage, however. Translucent White Cameo on Black Pin/Pendant surrounded with silver interlocking Chain. Set includes silver chain and coordinating handcrafted cameo wire ring.
