American Brilliant Cut Glass Bowl

9" diameter serving bowl in one I believe is one of the earliest & most elegant patterns cut by Libbey Glass

Even though it has a hairline (crack!) I have held on to this for several years just because of it simple beauty of this pattern.

I have enjoyed the incredible sparkle this has when the sun hits it - this bowl just lights up my front room however,  I am downsizing and won't have room in my new digs for many items so have decided to let Florence go to a new home. 

She would be an elegant cabinet piece for any level of collector, beginner, advanced or even for a museum

9" diameter x 3 1/4" deep

The thumb roll is definitely necessary due to the sharpness of the cutting

The rim is in great shape with all points present

A very substantial bowl and extremely sharp cutting

Condition Issues: On first glance it is beautiful, unfortunately there is a 3" hairline crack that runs parallel to the center miter cut around the diameter of the bowl of which you have to search for the damage

The American Brilliant Period of Cut Crystal was generally cut between the years of 1876 to the 1920's and met a rapid decline when the lead used in making brilliant glass was needed for World War 1.  Unique to America, the craftsmen of American Brilliant Period Cut Glass era, created their own place in the history of glassmaking. 

Highly collectible, from the making the glass to the craftsmenship of hand cutting the crystal, this period was like no other in the world of which we will never see again. 

No other types of glassmaking represents the beauty of crystal in its most elegant form.
