In one blinding moment the landscape of the universe changed. Welcome to the New Universe. A young man lies in a coma. Then suddenly, in the aftermath of the "White Event," he awakens. But he is forever changed. He suddenly realizes he has the amazing ability to enter people's dreams. Now as the Nightmask, he will use his powers to help those in need.

"Hide and Seek!" Story by Archie Goodwin. Art by Ernie Colon. In the aftermath of the White Event a young man suddenly finds he has the ability to traverse people's dreams. When he comes across a small boy in the dreamscape the hero, Nightmask, must discover the dreamer's identity, or someone will die.

"Burnout!" Story by Cary Bates. Art by Alex Saviuk and Paul Ryan. The neophyte hero Nightmask finds himself in a friend's dream and discovers that if he dies in the dreamscape then he will perish in the real world as well.
