This item is new in box...but because it had a hole cut out in the middle (to allow parents to test the sounds it makes in the store), it has allowed dust to settle in and the batteries were corroded.

To attack these items with a new doll, I carefully slide the doll and insert out of the box.  I allowed it to remain attached to the insert.

1.  Dust - I used a vacuum to dust around the doll, including the underside.  There are still areas that are discolored on the flip side (see pictures).  I was able to remove discolored areas in the front with a damp microfiber cloth and a little bit of dawn detergent.  There will be areas to clean, once the doll has been removed, but it should not take long.

2.  Battery Corrosion - I removed the battery compartment, removed the corroded batteries being used as well as the corroded "Extra Batteries" included.  I then carefully cleaned out the corrosion of the compartment, inserted brand new LR44 batteries (3 total) and the button now works fine.

3.  Extra Batteries - I've included brand new batteries (removed from the compartment until ready to use) and 3 more brand new batteries that are sitting in the spare compartment (see pictures).

Please let me know if you have any questions.
