Single James Monroe Coin from the Vintage 1968 Shell Oil's Mr. President Coin Game. Monroe was the 5th President from 1817 - 1825. Medallion measures approx 1" in diameter (size of US quarter) & is made of aluminum. Lightweight coin is in good condition, but please see photos for appearance and condition.
History of Shell's President Coin Game:
In 1968 and 1969 Shell Oil instituted a promotional game where you received an aluminum "coin" or medallion each visit/purchase of fuel. Each coin featured one of the first 39 Presidents’ images on one side and the words Shell’s Mr. President Game Coin on the reverse. Cash and other prizes were awarded for collecting certain coins. Game tokens were made by the Franklin Mint.
