This is a brand new rebuild, not a brand new engine!

THIS IS FOR A Cub Cadet BUT THERE ARE MANY VARIATIONS. WE ASK QUESTIONS AND YOU WILL GET AN EXACT REPLACEMENT FOR YOURS. 

A properly re manufactured engine is as good or better than a new one as ( seasoned ) blocks have less chance of warp or change as you use them than a new unused block does!

You can't get this quality of work at a local mower shop or dealer as it requires an engine machine/rebuild shop with machines, cleaning equipment, oven, blasting equipment, and know how to perform the work we do on these engines.

 

We have a general block pictured and not the exact one you get as there are many blocks and configurations available in each brand and application! For this reason we will need a spec number as well as we ask a number of questions to make sure you get a drop in fit. We have blocks available for almost any application but its best to call before buying just to make sure we have in stock.

Current wait time before we ship new block to you is currently 3 to 3 1/2 weeks and can vary so ask that also when you call.

( 2 ways to buy ) 1st you can send us your core up front and avoid a core charge ( we will immediately send you a special shipping box with packing instructions ) and you send us your core within 1 week. ( For this option you should be fairly sure it is rebuildable ( we will let you know if it isn't and show you why with pics ) as if it's not you would still owe some of the core charge.  2nd pay core charge up front, we rebuild and send our block and send to you, you install new block, put your core in our box and call us and we pick it up. Then we determine core refund when it comes back and (most) receive full refund if engine was running and even if blown when block is not cracked by starter or bottom of cylinder broken , but read our note about cores at bottom of ad.

If you send your core to us up front make sure to tell us if you want the exact one back as many times we have a similar engine already 1/2 way done before it gets here and we may ship it back to keep on our time schedule. We sometimes have 30 or more on order at any 1 time and to get out in a timely manor we ship out the quickest way we can unless you specifically specify you want yours back!!!

(NOTE) Balance gears replacement is not included in price and is $40 additional and we will send a Pay Pal invoice or charge card for it if you want. We suggest leaving out as it only matters to have them in on a few applications and we will suggest you have them for those few applications when you order. Most engines don't have balance gears in them as they were an option from Kohler to the OEMS and we make it an option also. They can not be added to any engine that never came from factory without them such as most John Deeres.

All blocks are degreased, acid dipped, blasted, and then hot pressure tank washed several times to remove carbon, dirt, rust, and grease for a clean surface to work on.

Critical gasket surfaces are machined flat for a good seal.

Blocks are bored  for a like new fit of piston and rings and new piston and rings installed.!. (Just honing a used bore as many shops do will increase piston to wall clearance and will not correct cylinder out of roundness so just honing and re ringing will not seal as well or last nearly as long as boring and installing new piston and rings with proper clearance)

Valves, guides, and valve seats are all re machined to like new or better specs for a good seal! (just lapping valves and seats will not correct seat and guide or seat and valve misalignment so will last a lot shorter time than re machining)

Governor arms are checked and many repaired or replaced and all engines get a new Governor as they develop stress cracks over time and a used one may be good today but not 6 months down the road.

Crankshafts are all remachined to factory new specs and a new rod installed

Camshaft and lifters are reconditioned and compression release is reconditioned!

Engine is assembled with new piston, rings, rod, governor gear,  gaskets , and seals and other reusable parts inspected and replaced as needed!

Engine is coated with heatproof primer and ready for paint

Next we install new points rod and points and then set points and valve clearance

Balance of gaskets are sent with block so you can reassemble head, oil pan, and other items. 

We are also now sending some assembly tips as we are finding some people getting engine assembled incorrectly such as governor and high speed which we also ask everyone to call us for help setting but the few people that had problems never bothered to call us. These 2 items are critical to get right before starting and we ask everyone to call us before starting!

Because these are on older machines just ordering for an application or giving a spec number doesn't insure you will get a motor that fits as someone may have adapted another engine to fit. This is why we always ask questions about block to insure we send proper product to you

 

If you order a spec number or give us info on an engine we know won't fit we will send an invoice to you stating what you ordered and what we know normally fits and it will need signed and returned. This is rare but all 3 times we told customer it wouldn't fit and they insisted on what they needed it got there and wouldn't fit as we told them. If we do ask for measurements they need to be accurate as some tractors can have 4 to 5 different variations and we don't want mistakes as it is costly.

(CORES) 6 years ago 4 out of 5 cores returned were not blown up and rebuildable, so we weren't so picky on cores. Now 4 out of 5 are returned to us blown  and many greatly damaged as people are waiting longer to fix their problem. Also a greater number are coming back all ready rebuilt or worn to the limit and the cost to resleeve a block or weld a crank back to standard is about 3 times the cost to remachine and rebuild. Our prices are low and are based on having a good rebuildable core returned and that is why we charge a core charge. We pretty much have a set refund rate if items are damaged, a block that needs sleeved or thrown away is MINUS $65, a crank with pto end worn out or flywheel end damaged is Minus $50. If cam is broke in half or lobes worn off Minus $25. Our core charge is very reasonable and even if we give nothing back and get a junk block it costs us much more to replace than we are charging you.

We have had to go to this because we are getting some unbelievable cores back- we've had cranks worn to .050, we had 2 running engines with cylinders worn to almost .060 (must have used a quart of oil an hour), some with blocks cracked in half, 1 had chunks broken out of top of block as they tried to remove broken studs, and many others. We are fair and use a simple rule of thumb, ( If you can take your engine to a shop and they can remachine and rebuild for you to use, you will get your core charge back.)  Most shops if you take to them and they have to get you a new block or crank you will likely pay $200 to $400 more to them to get you correct usable parts so we are very fair. To avoid any hard feelings we are now inspecting return cores much better and then taking pictures of damaged blocks if customer didn't realize.  Most people tell us on phone anymore if they have damage so we are having fewer people get a surprise when they don't get full core refund but we always give customer as much back as we possibly can. And a note that (MOST) running cores sent back receive about 100% core refunds and even about 60% of blown engines do also.

Also note that if you buy a 14 HP or 12 HP we must have a like core returned. You can't take your 10 Hp to a shop and have them rebuild it to a 14 Hp and we can't either.
