A semi porcelain flow blue floral and scroll work covered serving dish or tureen with gold gilding to the edge and gold gilded highlights to the handle. The dish's unusual hourglass shape creates a visually striking and distinct element, setting it apart from other conventional designs.
 
Marked on the bottom Thos Hughs & Son, England Semi-Porcelain. This mark was used between 1895 and 1910.

11 ½” (29.2 cm) long x 6 ½” (16.5 cm) wide x 5 ½” (14.0 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 14.0 oz (1305 g)
 
CONDITION
 
There are no cracks, chips or repairs. The glaze has very little crazing. There are customary kiln flaws, such as pitting and glaze misses. There is light discoloration around the rim. The glaze has light wear but is still very shiny. The gilding is worn with only remnants visible.
