Cabrini Pendant Attached to Brooch Included

This is a lovely old vintage pendant of Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini. She is considered to be the Patron Saint of Immigrants and Orphans. She is also called Mother Cabrini. She came from Italy and became a United States Citizen in 1909. She was the 1st citizen of the United States to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church. She founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a Catholic religious institute that was a major support to the Italian immigrants to the U.S.  She also established schools and orphanages and founded Columbus Hospital and Italian Hospital. She died in 1917 and was Blessed or Beautified in 1938 and canonized in 1946.

The front of the pendant is a highly detailed image of Cabrini in a round floral frame with cut outs. The back reads “Blessed F. Xavier Cabrini Pray For Us” and is signed HMH Sterling. The pendant has a jump ring attached to the bail, so you can easily use this on a rosary or a fine chain. I am including the ribbon bow brooch so you can use the pendant as a lapel pin if so desired. The ribbon brooch is not in very good condition, there is quite a bit of tarnishing, it is to be considered a bonus with the pendant. The pendant measures approximately 5/8 of an inch by ¾ of an inch, not including the bail.

The pendant is in great vintage condition with patina, mostly on the back. The front has a beautiful shine; the back does have some spotting.
