Västerbottenost is traditionally stored refrigerated for long-term preservation. However, it is a durable hard cheese and can safely withstand transportation without refrigeration:

• The cheese can comfortably handle 7–14 days at room temperature during shipping without any issues.

• If you live in a very warm climate, the cheese may sweat slightly during transportation. This is completely normal and does not affect the quality, taste, or safety of the product.

Once received, we recommend storing the cheese in the refrigerator to maintain its optimal flavor and texture over time.
