STRIPES: THE FIRST FIVE YEARS OF THE GI'S NEWSPAPER
Edited by John Sharnik and Oliver Gregg Howard
The Stars and Stripes, Germany, 1947
Condition: Very Good

This book tells the early history of the GI newspaper Stars and Stripes, written by the paper's 1947 staff. It was first sent only to the publication's alumni, then was re-edited for public distribution. It includes many photos and cartoons, as well as some other reproductions from the newspaper. 125 pages; no dust jacket. Some spine chips and corner/edge wear on the exterior; the interior is unmarked with no tears and yellowing in the margins. Quite uncommon.
