CARRYING THE DARKNESS: THE POETRY OF THE VIETNAM WAR

Edited by W.D. Ehrhart

Texas Tech University Press, First Corrected Edition, 1989

Condition: Near Fine in Fine dust jacket

This may well be the best anthology of poetry to come out of the Vietnam War.  It is the work of 75 poets, some familiar, many unfamiliar.  Here is the the soul-deadening pain, grief and anger of the soldiers, the day-in, day-out grunt work of the war, the dip-sticks and characters and jive-fools, the hip and laughable blarney which characterizes any American army. The copy would be fine but for numerous pencil markings on the pages.  This is the first corrected edition of the 1995 original.
