This is an ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE and ORIGINAL ANTIQUE RELIGIOUS PENDANT that was made in the ART NOUVEAU style during the 1920s. It is HANDMADE from 18K GOLD and ORIGINATES from FRANCE, but made from the south American market. It is SIGNED SELLIER (Henri Sellier 1883-1943) on the lower left and has FRENCH HALLMARKS and MAKER’S MARKS on top loop. The pendant displays A SILHOUETTE RELIEF of the VIRGIN MARY / MADONNA / BLESSED MARY or possibly JOAN OF ARC...what do you think? It is detailed with THE FINEST PLIQUE-A-JOUR TRANSLUCENT ENAMEL in COBALT BLUE, DEEP GREEN and DEEP TURQUOISE. The pendant is framed with 48 NATURAL WHITE PEARLS and is set with 1 tiny ROSE CUT DIAMOND at the top. The pendant measures 1-1/8” in diameter and the total weight is a solid feeling 9.3 grams. The back is engraved and dated SUSANA PETRONA 28 DE MAYO DE 1920, which is spanish for May 28, 1920. There is a number lightly engraved on the back top 16113. FINEST!! These antique religious pendants are getting very hard to find!
