Comments: By 1996, when this CD was released, no one was playing 80's style AOR, least of all new bands with any hope of reaching a wider audience. Still, that's what the Kansas City based London Drive delivered with their debut album Awake. At a time when mainstream radio was all about "alternative" bands, London Drive released a polished, professional album of songs far more suited to the previous decade. The band's sound is equal parts AOR staples like Journey and REO Speedwagon plus late 80's/early 90's acts like Alias, Nelson and the Storm.
