I GAVE IT A FAST DUSTING AND LOOKS GOOD IT WOULD BE UP TO YOU IF YOU WANT TO POLISH IT ,I ALSO ADDED A PIECE OF WIRE AND MADE IT INTO A WALL HANGING AS IT IS SHOWN IN THE 1ST 3 PICTURES

NOW FROM THE OTHER PIECE MY PARENTS OWN THAT IS A CHINA WAR SCENE I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS ITALIAN MADE SO WHO KNOWS FOR SURE HOWEVER THE STYLE FRAMING AND SUBJECT IS VERY SIMILAR

MY GUESS THIS MAY BE FROM THE 40S AND MAY HAVE BEEN A COFFEE TABLE AT ONE TIME

HAND CARVED OUT OF A SINGLE PIECE OF WOOD THIS ONE DEPICTS A CHINA VILLAGE OR PERHAPS SOUTH EAST ASIA or VIET-NAM

BEAUTIFUL CARVINGS AND IS DONE IN 4  LAYERS TO GIVE A TRUE 3-D LOOK AS MUCH IS VERY DETAIL CARVING

THE FRAME LOOKS TO BE PART OF THE CARVING BUT I SUSPECT THAT IT IS NOT

IN THE CASE OF MY PARENTS IT WAS A INSERT TO A COFFEE TABLE AND THIS MAY BE THE CASE HERE AS THERE IS A GROOVE FOR A SHEET OF GLASS , THAT WOULD BE UP TO YOU IF YOU WANTED TO GET GLASS BUT ME PERSONALLY A GOOD COAT OF POLISH AND A DUSTING WOULD REALLY BE ALL THAT I WOULD DO AND PROUDLY HANG IT ON A WALL

AS MY PARENTS DO HAVE THEIRS DISPLAYED AS A WALL HANGING AND IT REALLY LOOKS GREAT THAT WAY
