GENERAL CRACK by George Preedy
Grosset & Dunlap, 1928
Photoplay Edition, 2nd Printing
Condition: Very Good+

Besides his "Great Profile", John Barrymore was noted for his fine "Actor's Actor" voice. So once Warner Brothers took the plunge and started the Talkie Revolution, they wasted little time in putting Barrymore in his first talking film, the historical drama GENERAL CRACK. The film is now lost, a victim of deterioration and its antiquated sound system. This book, with its seven plates illustrating scenes from the photoplay,is the only remaining publicly-available record of the film. This copy has modest cover corner wear, a color-faded spine and a few other minor cover flaws. The interior has a very few pencil marks and tanned pages. The binding is tight. No dust jacket.
