MY 30 YEARS BACKSTAIRS AT THE WHITE HOUSE
by Lillian Rogers Parks in collaboration with Frances Spatz Leighton
Fleet Pub. Corp., 1961
First Edition, Second Printing
Condition: VG+ to NF in Near Very Good dj

After serving as a maid and seamstress at the Executive Mansion through the administrations of six presidents (from Wilson through Eisenhower), Lillian Rogers Parks retired and, at the insistence of her mother, wrote down her favorite White House stories. From these and interviews with Parks, Washington correspondent Leighton fashioned this book, which became a best-seller. The first edition in this condition with the jacket has since become quite scarce. 346 pages. This copy of the 2nd printing has only minor signs of wear, with only modest tanning and a bookplate on the front flyleaf. The dust jacket has several short edge tears, but by and large is in decent condition.
