Up for bidding is a rare and wonderful vintage coloring book featuring Twinkles the flying elephant. TWINKLES, SANFORD AND WILBUR was released by Whitman in 1962, and features the characters from the TV cartoon shorts. Twinkles is also famous for his work as a General Mills cereal box mascot! This vintage coloring book is in heavily used condition. It has wear, rubs, yellowing, and creases to the corners. There is a pen scribble on the front cover. The bottom corner of the front has a small tear. Inside the book, the pages are heavily yellowed and the paper has become very delicate with age. Many of the pages have tears along the bottom edges from handling. The pictures are printed in thick grey lines that look faded or "ghosted out" from age - please see pictures. This book saw a lot of use from the original child owner. Over half the pages are uncolored. The rest have partial coloring, crayon or pen marks, writing, or scribbles. Please see the photos and ask if you need more details. Although this book is heavily used and has significant flaws, it is still absolutely adorable! The art style is unique and the pictures are super cute and super funny. This is a rare piece of memorabilia from this obscure cartoon and General Mills advertising mascot!
