Marzi & Remy

Brown / Blue Leaf Motif "Sgraffito"  Vase

MARZI & REMY were one of the finest producers of German Beer Steins and were founded in 1880. There is very little information as to when exactly they started producing Art pottery, but we believe they produced such Pottery from the 1940's until 1993. Their art pottery is quite rare and hard to come by, referred to as 'Sgraffito' - the art of scratching a pattern into the clay - they are hard to produce as any mistakes cannot be repaired or covered up. This vase is 10 1/2 inches tall; it is about 7 inches wide and the rim has a diameter of 4 inches. Even if you are not a collector, this is an item for the very discriminating and value conscious; something to retain and pass along.  In excellent condition, of course.
