Vintage Faberware Aluminum and Triumph American Limoges China Basket. This style of aluminum and china mixed together was very popular from the 1930s to 1950s, in the 1950s and early 1960s colored aluminum was introduced and became very popular. In the mid 1960s the popularity was slowing as warm earth colors were coming into fashion.
This piece has the china insert in the middle, pieces of this sort are much harder to find then the solid aluminum pieces. The edge of this basket has a floral pattern, handle has a wonderful wrought design, and the center is a floral pattern plate made by Triumph American Limoges China expressly for Faberware.
It is 11 1/2" across and about 7" tall to the top of the handle, the china insert is 6 1/4" across and the aluminum edge is 3" wide to the plate. It is signed on the back with Wrought Faberware, the plate is marked Triumph, American Limoges, Made in USA, Imperial Victorian T, Warranted 22K White Gold, Made for Faberware.
It is in excellent condition, bright and shinny, ready to use or to decorate with!
