This is a great vintage oil rig or drilling themed belt buckle from the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas. It is dated 1976 and I believe it is brass, but it could be metal with a brass color to it. A magnet does not stick to the buckle part, but it does to the loop section on the back. It has an intricate drill image and is approximately 2 3/4 inches in diameter. Today, the Permian Basin dominates crude oil production.

I had several of these buckles saved and I sold a couple of them previously, you may have seen the old images. The buckle you see in the photos here is the one you will receive.

It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished the buckle as many people prefer the older patina that only comes with age. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This is a wonderful buckle to add to any collection and a great gift for someone who works in the gas or oil industry.
