Pinanga Coronata is found in Andaman Is., Fiji, Lesser Sunda , Sumatera, Jawa to Lesser Sund Islands . It is a tropical appearing suckering pinnate palm with beautiful cream colored crown shaft and purple flowers with dark black fruit.

The Pinanga Coronata is overall an easy growing palm. It thrives well in shady areas and has exceptional ornamental qualities. This species has proven to be fairly cold tolerant for a Pinanga.  It makes a fascinating potted indoor plant as well.
