FM Co Finberg Manufacturing Hinged Bangle Bracelet with Wired on Topaz and Diamond 14k accent.
The bracelet: This listing is for a beautiful marked FM CO Edwardian hinged bangle bracelet. The bracelet has a patent number (Looks like 32210) and is marked FM CO (Finberg Manufacturing) that was started by Joseph Finberg in 1888 in Attleboro Massachusetts. While not marked gold filled, all of these early pieces were heavily gold filled and obviously will last a lifetime and and more.
The bracelet has a very nice finish with a couple light dings on the outside back. On each side is a fancy overlaid repousse design with scrolls and open work. The bracelet is basically hollow but substantial at 28.8 grams. I do not know if anything was removed from the bracelet when the accent was added.
The bracelet measures approximately 7" long and 1.25" wide in the front. Not new, not perfect but a simply lovely antique and timeless treasure!
The accent: I was told a bit of history about this estate bracelet when I bought it. The accent was added to the bracelet to match a pendant that I also bought (sold separately, please see my store). The previous owner bought two pendants and had one attached to the bracelet. The bale was removed by a jeweler so there is no mark that I can see where the bale was removed. The accent is wired on and that was not done professionally, but a good job for an amateur as it is tight and positioned well. If you look closely, you can see the wires. They are more visible from the back side.
The accent is 14k yellow gold with an oval blue topaz surrounded by small, brilliant diamond. The pendant weighs 4.09 grams, so without the bale, the accent would weigh a wee bit less. It measures approximately .75" x .5." The bale on the pendant is marked 14k and CID for Clyde Duneier, designer. The topaz is over 5 cts at 10x14mm.
Although not an original match, the accent looks absolutely stunning with the bracelet. Very impressive and a real eye catcher. A blend of old and new that works!
