(2) Two Antique Photographs. (1) one Carte de Visite (CDV) and (1) one large hand-colored portrait. Identified as Lida (also possibly spelled Lide) Winans, "sister of J.A. Winans, died at (age of) 17 (in) 1893." CDV photo by Graeff studio in Sidney Centre, New York. Measure approximately 6.5 x 9 and 2.5 x 4.25. Condition: These are original photographs, not copies or reproductions. They are in excellent condition. The large portrait edges were trimmed, obviously to fit at one time into an oval-shaped frame. Comments: Lida Winans was born circa 1876, most likely in Sidney Centre, New York where her brother James Albert Winans was born in 1872. She also had a brother named William "Will" Winans who died the same year at the age of 15. All three were the children of James Addison Winans (1839-1917) and Mary Antonette Sewell (1845-Unknown). Our reserve inventory includes several Winans family antique photographs (all sold separately) including Isaac Winans and family (Oxford, New York photography studio); Joseph Smith Winans (Sidney Centre, NY and Centre Point, Iowa); Henry Winans (Oxford, NY studio); James Albert Winans (Sidney Centre and Utica, New York studios); William "Will" Winans (brother of James Albert Winans, died at the age of 15); and Lide / Lida Winans (sister of James Albert Winans, died at the age of 17). We also have some photos in our inventory of the related Sewell family line, also sold separately.
