Rare Pattern - Alfred Meakin #413, 1940s, Marquis-Shaped, Art Deco Pin Dish (Fruit Bowl)

This is a charming, small, bone china, pin or fruit bowl in pattern #413. It is ivory with green, teal, tangerine, yellow, and black in the paisley chintz pattern. It is a lovely example of English transferware.  It is marquis shaped and has gold trim around the scalloped edge.

A crown and "Alfred Meakin" "England" are in green on the back. The number “30” is inscribed by hand under the glaze, in green as well. Alfred Meakin was a prolific pottery manufacturer whose business operated from 1875 - 1976. He was brother of James and George Meakin (J&G Meakin) who were also in the business.

Approx. size: 5 3/8" x 5 3/8"

The dish has crazing on the back, as seen in the photos, but is still uniquely beautiful and in very good condition. There are no chips.
