Garden of the Purple Tree: Another tree, another garden — favorite subjects of mine! Some of the circular designs of pieces in my fabric stash appealed to me for this piece, which includes pieces of silk which was not easy to work with, but they have a sheen which adds to the visual effect, but is hard to capture in a photograph. The purples and pinks are set off by the black and white pieces on the left and right.
My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and a felt backing. It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
