Hand-carved Wood Statue of Virgin Mary by Mabini Handicrafts

Mabini Handicrafts is best known for their kiln dried hand carved utensils, so I was delighted to have acquired this unusual piece. Made in the Philippines, it is 16 inches tall. It’s in good condition but not flawless; there’s a few minor scratches that can easily be covered with a scratch pen but it’s a wonderful rendering. The base (pedestal, if you will) is 3 inches high x 3.5 inches wide. Probably dates to the 1970’s.
