Vintage Birds Pewter Brooch Pin Songbirds Flowers Circa 1940
1930s to 1940s
Figural Bird
Flowering Tree
Sitting on Branch
1930s or 1940s

This is a wonderful and unique brooch or pin made from what I believe is pewter, but could be another material. It depicts two songbirds singing. They are sitting on a flowering branch of a tree. The detail on this pin is amazing, you can see all the feathers and the birds are adorable. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inches across and 2 1/4 inches tall. It reminds me of the Birds & Blooms series, but this came from a relative and is quite old and was most likely from 1930s or 1940s.

The front is in excellent condition but I can't figure out the pin on the back. It appears that it was replaced because there are little raised spots where the old one might have been attached. There is a tiny spot of what looks like tarnish next to the pin by the tail. You don't see it without the magnification. It also looks as though a roll over safety clasp might have been added to the c-clasp and it is possible the stick pin is not original. It does work though and stays closed.

This would be perfect for any bird lover or bird watcher. It would make a great addition to your collection of vintage figural jewelry. I have not found another one like it anywhere.
