This is a unique one of a kind, handcrafted Thunderbird, Phoenix or Condor brooch pin. It has a green oval stone cabochon as the body and the head is a round marble like green stone. The bird’s outline is either aluminum, galvanized wire or some other type of silver metal in a twisted spiral design. It has not been tested for silver content. The brooch measures approximately 2 ¼   inches tall and 2 inches wide. It is either a Southwestern Native American design or it could be based on the Nazca Lines, large ancient Geoglyphs in southern Peru. These lines were created by the Nazca culture between 500 BC and 500 AD. I have included an image of the one that looks like this brooch in one of the photos. I have seen it described as the Andean Condor, which is a special bird for the people of Peru. There is a temple that was built for the Condor by the Incas at Machu Picchu.

It is in great vintage condition as you can see from the many enlarged photographs. The simple clasp on the back works just fine. The metal bar at the bottom that holds the metal together sits a little crooked. This is how it was made, it is not damaged. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would make an excellent gift for any bird lover. It will be the perfect addition to your collection of figural vintage jewelry. It is a one of a kind pin that is sure to be a conversation starter. It will look great as a scarf pin, on a dress or sweater. You can wear it for a dressy evening out, or a casual day of shopping.
