THE STAND

by Stephen King

New York: Doubleday, [1978] ca. 1982-1985

This book is a later edition in dust jacket with unclipped price of $19.95 (the price on the jacket of the 1978 first edition was $12.95) on front jacket flap. This copy and it’s dust jacket follow the same format as the first 1978 edition: black cloth spine stamped in gold with tan boards. The Stand as issued in this format was a heavy bulky book and not many, even a reprint, survived in the condition as this one did.

-------------------------------------------------------------

This is fine book in a fine dust jacket without the usual darkening/soiling the spine and white areas. It was never read, nor was book opened. Just to take these photos. The dust jacket is enclosed in a removable Mylar dust jacket protector.

The book is tight and square in its black quarter-cloth and tan boards binding1with gilt lettering on the spine of the book. The same format as the first edition which was printed in 1978. There is no date and no gutter code. The book probably was printed on the mid-1980’s. Great copy.

Later printing, probably mid-1980’s.
