LES CONCOURS D'ARCHITECTURE -- DE L'ANNEE                SCOLAIRE 1956-1957                                                              Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Beaux Arts                                Condition:  Near Very Good                                                                                                                                                               I don't read French, so I've had to do some website searching for this.  Quoting Wikipedia: "The Ecole nationale superieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) is a fine arts grand school of PSI, Research University in Paris, France....Its program was structured around a series of anonymous competitions that culminated in the...Grand Prix de Rome....Contestants for the Prix were assigned a theme from the literature of Classical Antiquity...."  I'm assuming the theme for 1956-57 was Classical Architecture, as the book is made up of 64 full-page plates of building plans and other architectural illustrations (presumably by the student contestants), preceded by 26 pages of commentary text.  Those who  read French can check out my scan of the first page to see if I've got it right.  The spine has black areas near the top and bottom and a square has been cut out at the top corner of the first page; there is also some cover corner wear, evidence that something was removed from the front pastedown and a bit of other exterior wear.  Otherwise, the book is in nice condition.
