Aynsley Salad Plate

Rare Pink 'Posey Pattern' H-633/3

circa 1891-1904

This salad plate belonged to one of my grandmothers. I only found two sites with this Pattern #H633 and the design was the same but, they were pale yellow or pale green backgrounds. So I suspect this is a rare color, since I could not find one other like it on the web in this color. It appears to have been handpainted.

I can not even be sure about the name of the pattern except that others seem to refer to this particular pattern as 'posey pattern' or 'posie pattern'. I do know that it was created between 1891-1904 because of the stamp on the back of the plate.

It is also marked H633/3 and at the bottom it has the number 13 written in green like the hallmark. See the back of the plate here. If you would like more photos or better photos please don't hesitate to ask.

It measures 8 1/4" in diameter. It has some light scratches due to age and use, but I see no crazing or cracks or chips. There is a teeney tiny dot on the back that appears to be from the mold. It is very good condition considering its age is at least 114 years old!!!

It has a gold rim painted on the edge of its scalloped edging. It would make a great accent plate on a table to serve pastries or cookies or chocolates.

Because of its coloring it would be wonderful with any shabby chic decor.
