The plaster emblem measured by the upright diagonal is about 10 1/2" and the wood shield base is about 12 3/4" tall. The fact of the plaster being loose is by my thinking a good thing, it makes it very easy to refinish the wood and also will ship safer that way maybe with bubble wrap all the way around the plaster. Some of you that make displays might find the plaster part ideal to work something around, and if you are really ambitious you could make your own casting. but I don't expect anyone is that adventurous. But I do expect most potential buyers have refinished wood sometime in their lives.

Looks sixties to me and I would bet seriously that at worst it couldn't be much later. A lot of good ships served in this squadron so if you were on one of them then you don't want to miss this scarce keepsake.
