This is a stunning vintage layered heart necklace in a silver tone metal. It is meticulously designed by hand with multiple nested dangling hearts on the front and oval rings on the back. There are five rows of hearts with somewhere between 80 to 100 hearts, it was too hard to count and keep track of them all. The necklace measures approximately 19 inches long with a lobster claw clasp that makes the length adjustable with the extender down to 16 inches, maybe a bit smaller as well. The center of the collar is about 2 inches tall. Each heart is ¼ of an inch wide and tall. I have not been able to find another one like this, although there is a similar current design that is much smaller than this with only 2 rows of hearts. This was most likely from the 1970s to 1980s.

What a wonderful gift for someone you love for Valentine's Day, an Anniversary, or as an engagement present. It just screams Love! You could have one of the hearts engraved with a special message that would be hidden in the necklace; you could say “All My Love”, My Heart is Yours” or even “Marry Me”. You could even replace one of the hearts with another charm that is special to you.

It is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There may be a few minor surface scratches on a heart or two, but if there are I didn't see them. There are no missing hearts as far as I can tell. All of the hearts are nice and shiny, this is a gorgeous piece.

This is perfect to wear with that little v-neck black dress or with your favorite pair of jeans. The hearts dangle, but don't make a noise so you can wear it anywhere. The silver hearts react to light and color almost like mirrors and the necklace picks up reflections of the colors you are wearing.
