Vintage Bagpipes Hat Ribbons Brooch Pin Scottish Musical Instrument
Celtic Highlands Figural

Small Miniature Tiny One Inch
Silver Gold Tone Silvertone Metal

This is a sweet little brooch or pin in the shape of Bagpipes and a Hat with streaming ribbons. Bagpipes are a woodwind instrument that plays using reeds and air fed through a bag. I’m not sure what the silver tone metal is and it has not been tested for silver content. It is unmarked and there are no hallmarks. It also appears that at one time there may have been gold or vermeil plating on the ribbons as an accent, but now it just has a slight gold tone to the ribbons and only in certain light. The back of the brooch has an old unusual style “C” clasp. I have been unable to find another bagpipe brooch like it on the Internet. The brooch is quite small and only measures 1 inch by ¾ of an inch (please see photo with the quarter).

This pin is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished it as many people prefer the patina that only comes with age. Depending on your own taste, I will leave any polishing up to you; you can keep it in the same condition with its original patina or polish it. I think the dark of the patina actually looks great the way it is. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be perfect for anyone who plays the Bagpipes. If you are from Scotland, embrace your heritage and wear this brooch on any occasion. It is sure to be a conversation starter. It will look beautiful on a tartan sash, a dress, hat or jacket lapel.
